The world was created, and that’s the beginning,
it didn’t take long and man began sinning.
God was not pleased, as well we all know,
He laid down his law, and told us to grow.
To die was our lot, we had not much hope,
a Saviour was needed, beyond our own scope.
But God had a plan – a way out far thought-
He’d send down His Son, our lives to be bought.
We waited and waited for thousands of years,
we toiled and we sweated and cried lots of tears
For years all lay quite, no message was heard,
and then all of a sudden – the news was absurd-,
A baby was born in a town far away,
the promised Messiah had come to hold sway.
Was born from a virgin, it really was so,
and why it all happened is written below.
He died on a cross and so paid the price,
that should have been ours, it wasn’t so nice,
He rose from the grave as had been foretold,
so that hope in the future was ours to now hold.
Now we are The Bride and He is our Groom,
He went back to heaven to fix us a room.
We’ve waited and waited for thousands of years,
we’ve toiled and we’ve sweated and cried lots of tears.
It’s advent again and He’ll be back soon,
so get yourself ready as a bride for the groom.
In that glorious day, are you sure to be taken?
or left here below to feel lost and forsaken.
His coming will not be, told in advance,
be ready today, not living by chance.
For Christmas is Christ and not all the fuss,
so focus on Him, and Him only trust.
That day is coming sooner, than generally believed.
Please seek God, get ready, and do not be deceived.
Only those who follow Jesus, those who God’s will obey;
Only they will be rejoicing, on that great judgment day.
This is the story of the babe who in the manger lay.
Repent, believe and follow Him (Jesus), for He is the only way.
